General Questions
What is my phone worth?
Current cell phone values can be viewed by clicking here.
Can any type of organiztion start a fundraiser through CampusCellRecycler.com?
Yes, any organization can signup and start collecting cell phones. We just specialize in school fundraisers and our donated phones go to pay for scholarships.
What is the fundraising potential of your program?
There is potential to raise thousands of dollars through our program. The great thing about is that you do not have to sell a product or even offer a service. Most people have a few phones laying at home that they dont use anymore and they will be happy to donate it to your cause.
Do you accept accessories such as chargers and headset?
Accessories go to the overall value of the handset. For Full Value of the handset please include all OEM accessories. ie Home Charger, Memory Card, Card Reader, Battery. Aftermarket product do not have a value. (must be OEM products)
What do you do with the phones collected?
All phones collected will either be refurbished and resold, or they will be disposed of properly if they do not funtion.
Is it a good idea to collect used cell phones from my local phone store?
It would be a good idea to ask local stores (Cingular, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.) if you can place a recycle drop box in their store. See if you can place a poster nearby it. It is not intended as a means by which commercial enterprises or other organizations can dispose of large quantities of cell phones that are only suitable for disassembly and reclamation. Should this occur, we reserve the right to refuse shipments of such material and terminate further participation in the program. If you are approached by organizations wishing to dispose of large quantities of such material please refer them to a CampusCellRecycler.com representative.
How does this program compare to other cell phone recycling fundraisers?
We have tried to make our program as easy and simple as possible. When you compare us to other ones out there we know you will see a difference. We also guarantee that if you find a reputable company paying more per cell phone, we will try to match or beat them.
What if the phone has a malfuction or does not work?
Certain phones can be repaired, I have access to most Nextel and Sprint parts and can repair several models. Please note I will accept them and pay for ones that can be repaired or salavaged for parts, ones that cannot be repaired will be dispsosed of and not returned. If you have a question on a certain model send your questions to admin@campuscellrecycler.com
I saw my phone listed on an auction site for more, will you match that price?
No, I will not match auction site values, and here are the main reasons why.
I have been dealing with auction sites for years, out of every 20 phones that I sell 5 of them are deadbeat buyers that do not pay or buy the phone and say there is something wrong and want a refund. So they drive the price to an over inflated value which cost you time and money to relist and hope to find a buyer. And with auctions sites it cost you money to list them, time for them to sell, and some luck to find the right buyer, and while you might see the exact same phone that I list for 100.00 sell for 120.00 I will find one that sells for 80.00. On average if you sell an item for 100.00 you will have over 12.00 in fees and shipping expence. Multiple that buy the number of dead beat buyers, and your time. Every month I receive several phones that people have tried to sell on there own, and have been burned or lost money. Buy the time they get to me there phone value has dropped so they lose even more.
Handset requirements and Value Determinations
I see my phone on the list, however I do not have all the accessories or parts for the phone, How much is my phone worth?
All phones are valued on overall apperance and resell ability. Phones that come in with all the accessories, and are in Excellent Shape can be turned around alot faster than a phone missing parts, needing repair, or missing neccessary accessories. Phone values are based on a scale to full value measurement.
Ex: Motorola i760 has a value of 30.00, but is missing the antenna, and has some scratches on the casing. Phone would qualify for 80%-85% of full value ranging the phone at $24-$27.
Just for reference I saw another site that would offer you 5% of the value for your phone. That would be $1.50
I have several of the same model phone, some of them are in great condition, some are pretty used, and some are not working, Should I send them all?
YES!!! Being in the repair business, I can use parts from one handset to fix another which could increase the overall value of your phone. If I can use two phones to build one good phone you will recieve the value of the good phone, or the parts whichever is higher.
Your values say based off the Service Provider, why is their a difference?
Simple supply and demand, as an example, A Spint Phone and a Qwest Phone operate off the same system and are identical model handsets however the Sprint Phone has a lot more value than a Qwest Phone Due to the size of the Company, the demand for the product, and availbility of the network. The Same holds true for product Launch and Life span of the phone. A Motorola Q from Sprint has A lot more value than a Motorola Q from Verizon. The reason is the time frame of which the handset were available, currently their are alot more Verizon handset available driving the value down, While Sprint just released their handset making it in Demand, Driving value up.
I have seen other sites that offer more than yours and have more phones listed, Why would I choose CampusCellRecycler.com?
Here are a few of the reasons why CampusCellRecycler is a much better program overall.
1. I do not bate and switch, I keep a close eye on my list and the supply and demand ensuring I can give you top dollar for your phone. Once your phone is inspected and all requirments are met you will recieve a total value for each handset. I will not advertise a $100.00 then email you in 4 weeks telling you the value now is only $45.00.
2. I accept repair model phones, if you read most of the other requirments they will tell you that if the phone does not work their is no value. If I can fix it or use it for parts you will get money for it.
3. Turn around time for payments. My lists are accurate, and the size of my company is more managible for turn around time. Since each order is unique and based on each handset larger orders can take up to three weeks to process, Rare but it can happen, Most of my orders are valued within 3 days of recieving and processed immediatly after. You could recieve payment in as little as 7 days with my program.
What if I have a handset that is not on your list because it is a local provider phone?
If the phone can be programmed to work on the national providers it will have value, if it is a phone that was built for a local service provider chances are it will not have a value. If you are not sure if your provider is on the list, please email me prior to sending the phone. There is an 8.00 return charge per phone.
